Letrozole is an anti-estrogen in the Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) family. It is one of the most potent and effective AI’s. Some people find its potency too strong to use off-label. Letrozole was approved by the FDA in 1997 and would be sold through Novartis. Femara is the most popular AI name, but it is also known by its chemical name Letrozole more than its brand name.
Letrozole was made to help women who have breast cancer after menopause. It would be almost exactly like the AI in Arimidex (Anastrozole) Like many AIs, it has found a place among anabolic steroids users. Letrozole is a medicine used by people who use steroids to prevent side effects caused by estrogen. Use Letrozole as an anti-estrogen to reverse gynecomastia symptoms.
Characteristics:
Letrozole is an AI that blocks the aromatase enzyme, which is in turn responsible for making estrogen. By stopping estrogen production, this lowers total serum estrogen levels in the body. This will be helpful for the breast cancer patient because this cancer often feeds off the estrogen hormone. It will be good for the anabolic steroid user because excess estrogen often leads to some of the most common side effects of anabolic steroids.
Letrozole can also increase natural testosterone production by increasing Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicles Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Some doctors have used Letro to treat low testosterone conditions, but this is usually not the preferred method of treatment. When it comes to low testosterone treatment, exogenous testosterone is usually the only thing that makes sense. Letrozole and testosterone can help with side effects in this plan. We'll look at this in the effects section.
Effects:
Letrozole, which is an anti-estrogen, is very helpful for people who have breast cancer. Many types of breast cancer are caused by the hormone estrogen. By stopping the production of estrogen, which in turn lowers the amount of circulating estrogen in the body, this can stop cancer from growing. For years, Nolvadex was the preferred treatment for this purpose. Nolvadex blocks estrogen from binding to the estrogen receptor. But it doesn't stop or slow production. Many physicians, especially in extreme cases, have begun to use AI’s first. Once the cancer is gone, a SERM like Nolvadex may be used to protect against the cancer coming back.
Letrozole is very helpful for people who use anabolic steroids because it helps prevent estrogen production. Many anabolic steroids can increase estrogen levels by interacting with the aromatase enzyme. When estrogen levels go up, this can lead to gynecomastia and excess water retention. If you keep too much water in your body, it can cause high blood pressure. Some steroids can smell and make estrogen increase, but not all steroids can do this. But many common steroids, such as Methandrostenolone (Dianabol) and all forms of testosterone, have this ability. The hormones Nandrolone and Boldenone can also smell. Nandrolone will aromatize at about the same rate as testosterone and Boldenone. Even though both smell less than testosterone, they still cause estrogen-related side effects. Nandrolone makes it more likely because it has a strong hormone called progestin. Progesterone can stimulate the estrogenic mechanism and lead to gynecomastia. Letrozole can be helpful when using steroids.
Including Letrozole in a cycle that has aromatizing anabolic steroids can prevent estrogenic side effects. This will keep the person from gynecomastia and water retention. Further, an AI will improve the individual’s odds when water retention is the cause of high blood pressure. High blood pressure is usually caused by heavy water retention.
Letrozole is the most effective way to combat estrogen related side effects. However, they can also make cholesterol lower. When AI's are used together with a steroid like testosterone, it can make cholesterol worse. Many will find that SERM’s like Tamoxifen Citrate (Nolvadex) should be their first choice for estrogen protection. SERM's don't make cholesterol worse. In fact, SERM's work like estrogens in the liver to make cholesterol healthier. Letrozole can be used without having an adverse effect on cholesterol, but it will take some effort on your part.
Letrozole can help natural testosterone production, which makes it a good choice for Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plans. This can make low testosterone treatment more appealing, but it's not always enough. But for PCT purposes, it's not usually recommended. The main goal of PCT is to make more natural testosterone, which Letrozole can do very well. But part of the goal of PCT is to make things normal again, which will be hard if estrogen levels are really low. Estrogen is a hormone that helps make the immune system stronger and lower cholesterol levels. For the anabolic steroid user, his best bet for PCT is to stick with SERMs for his natural testosterone production needs.
Side Effects:
Letrozole has many side effects that are very similar to Arimidex. Letrozole can cause weakness and fatigue. But for anabolic steroids users, this shouldn't be a problem. Anabolic steroids should prevent these states as long as estrogen suppression isn't taken too far. Only use it during a tough bodybuilding competition preparation cycle. During a harsh bodybuilding diet, the individual will usually be very weak and tired at the end of his diet. Letrozole side effects include:
These Headaches
You have high blood pressure.
Flashes of Hot Flashes.
Joint discomfort.
Depression is a common problem.
Letrozole can make bones less strong, which could make it more likely for someone to get osteoporosis. Nandrolone is an anabolic steroid that can increase bone mineral content. Letrozole will mostly surround possible side effects. We all react to different substances in a different way. Remember this. If Letrozole has too many side effects, try other medications instead.
Letrozole reduces cholesterol, especially HDL cholesterol. It doesn't seem to have a big effect by itself, but for people who use anabolic steroids, it can be a problem. Many anabolic steroids already have the ability to negatively affect cholesterol, and when combined with an AI, this effect seems to be even worse. Studies have shown that testosterone doses can reduce cholesterol by as much as 25% when combined with an AI. When testosterone is given at a higher level than normal, it usually causes a small amount of HDL suppression. When the same dose is combined with an AI, a 20% or greater reduction of HDL cholesterol is a very real possibility.
A cholesterol friendly lifestyle is important for the anabolic steroid user. A healthy lifestyle will depend on your diet. You should avoid simple sugars and saturated fats and eat a lot of omega fatty acids. Fish oil should be taken daily. A cholesterol antioxidant supplement may also be helpful. Also, cardiovascular activity is very important. Some form of daily cardiovascular activity is recommended.
Because anabolic steroids can cause cholesterol problems, many people who use them need to use SERM's to prevent estrogenic side effects. SERMs won't always work, but they can and will work a lot better than many people think. If you need an AI, some people think that taking 10mg of Nolvadex every day with your AI can help lower cholesterol levels. This is because SERM promotes healthier cholesterol levels.
Dose:
Letrozole is usually given at a dose of 2.5mg per day. This is a very strong dose that will be given until the cancer goes away. In some cases, when the patient's illness goes away, they switch from Letrozole to Nolvadex as a preventative treatment plan.
If you use anabolic steroids, you should take less Letrozole. If you take 2.5mg of anabolic steroids, it's usually too much and can make you feel tired. It's almost certain. We can only use this dose to treat early signs of gynecomastia. If symptoms start to show, 7-14 days at a dose of 2.5mg per day can reverse the symptoms. The individual should be able to taper down to a more manageable dose and keep it for the rest of the cycle. If this doesn't work, it's likely that the symptoms are already too severe to be fixed. When this happens, the only thing that can get rid of your gynecomastia is surgery. To protect against estrogen, most men will take 0.5-1mg every two days. When used as an anti-estrogen, even less may be needed. A full dose of 1mg per day leading up to the show can help with dryness and a tighter look. This is not a dose most would want to keep for an extended period of time as it can be harsh.
