Testosterone Propionate is a type of testosterone called a single ester. It is one of the most important testosterone compounds ever made. When synthetic testosterone was first made it was in its purest form. The compound was fast acting and would need to be given very often. In 1937 the pharmaceutical giant Schering out of Germany would release Testosterone Propionate under the trade name Testoviron. The same trade name it would eventually use for its Testosterone Enanthate product. By attaching the Propionate ester to the hormone, this would make it easier to control the hormones release time and keep blood levels stable. Testosterone Propionate would be the first commercially available testosterone product. It ruled the medical world until the 1960s and many new people who wanted to do better.
In the 1960s, Testosterone Propionate was replaced by Testosterone Cypionate and Testosterone Enanthat. However, it is still used as medicine and by many athletes who perform well. You can find more of it among the last group than anywhere else. Many athletes think that the Propionate form of Testosterone will lead to less water retention than the larger ester forms of Testosterone. This is why people usually use it instead of testosterone during cutting cycles. This is a common belief, but it is also a misconception. No matter what kind of testosterone you have, the hormone doesn't start working in your body until the outer layer breaks away and then the hormone is released. Even if you remove the ester from the testosterone hormone, you still have the same testosterone hormone in your body. Where did the myth come from? When running a cutting cycle, the individual will eat a diet that is lower in calories and has fewer carbs. This means that the person will have less water. Also, some people use less testosterone when they're trying to lose weight. If you take less than the recommended amount during the off-season, there's less active hormone to help keep water in your body. Testosterone Propionate has the same benefits as all other forms of testosterone. The good thing about Testosterone Propionate is that it's easier to keep blood levels of the hormone stable and high because you only need to inject it once a day instead of using bigger ester bases.
Testosterone Propionate can be used for more than just making people perform better. But like all testosterone forms, low testosterone has always been the most common point of use. Testosterone Propionate has also been used to treat menopause, cystic mastitis, excessive lactation, and endometriosis. Women used testosterone for a long time, but now the FDA doesn't approve it for use in women. In the U.S., it is still approved for male use, but it will be used more often in other parts of the world. But Cypionate and Enanthate are still the most popular forms in the world, while Propionate is mostly used for performance.
Characteristics:
Testosterone Propionate is a pure form of testosterone hormone. Even though it's made up of chemicals, it's exactly like the natural hormone called testosterone. The hormone is attached to a small and short ester called Propionate (propionic acid) ester. This helps control when the hormone is released. Without an ester, the hormone would disappear quickly. By attaching the ester, this allows the individual to inject the hormone less often. Once Testosterone Propionate is injected, the ester slowly starts to break away from the hormone. When the ester is taken away, the testosterone hormone goes into the blood. Testosterone Propionate has a half-life of approximately two days, which is much longer than ester free testosterone, which has a half-life of about 24 hours.
Testosterone Propionate is a pure testosterone that has both anabolic and androgenic properties. The testosterone hormone itself is the basis for all anabolic and androgenic ratings. Most importantly, even though it has these ratings for its structure, its rating for translating matches perfectly. Testosterone Propionate is anabolic and androgenic. This is important because not all steroids translate as well as they should.
Even though it's made from chemicals, Testosterone Propionate is a good medicine for treating low testosterone levels. Testosterone is a hormone that affects our physical, mental, and sexual health. Both genders need it, but men need it ten times more than women. If you have low testosterone and more than 20 million men in the U.S. have it, Testosterone Propionate can help. However, although testosterone is effective, it is not a preferred method of treatment because it requires frequent injections. Testosterone Cypionate and Testosterone Enanthate are the main forms of testosterone in treatment plans. But if you have problems and Testosterone Propionate is available, it might be a good choice.
Effects:
If you take Testosterone Propionate, you will not suffer anymore. Testosterone is the main effect of Testosterone in this regard. The levels were low before, but now they are higher. Then we have the performance-enhancing athlete, and Testosterone Propionate is a versatile anabolic steroid.
There is no anabolic steroid more important or helpful for the off-season athlete than testosterone. High levels of testosterone will help you build more lean muscle mass and strength. This is only if the person is eating enough calories. Testosterone Propionate is not magic. You still need to give your body enough calories. During an off-season period of growth, the total caloric intake will need to be slightly higher than usual. This will, unfortunately, lead to body fat gain. But the key to a successful off-season is gaining lean tissue while minimizing body fat gain. By taking Testosterone Propionate, you can do this better. A high testosterone level will help you burn more calories. This doesn't mean you can eat all the time, but you should be able to use your calories wisely.
Then we need to cut something, and Testosterone Propionate can help a lot. To lose weight, we need to burn more calories than what we eat. If you are not in a caloric deficit, you will not lose body fat. This caloric deficit puts our lean muscle tissue at risk. The human body doesn't want to lose weight because it wants to survive. When you die, your body will take what it needs from wherever it wants, and this is often from your muscles. The key to successful dieting is to lose fat and keep muscle tissue low. High testosterone levels will help you achieve this. Without Testosterone Propionate, some lean muscle tissue will be lost. High testosterone levels will also help the individual burn fat at a faster rate.
Test-P will make you stronger. You'll not get tired as quickly. You will also find that your overall rate of recovery is much higher, and it's through recovery that progress is made. Testosterone Propionate is an excellent steroid for athletes who don't want to bulk or cut. Increased endurance and recovery will lead to better athletic performance.
Side Effects:
Testosterone Propionate is a medicine that most healthy men can tolerate well. Healthy means not having low testosterone levels. There are some side effects of Testosterone Propionate use. Testosterone Propionate will rarely cause side effects for the low-level patient. Side effects are possible, but keep in mind you’re just replacing what your body needs. Testosterone Propionate will cause the most side effects for the performance athlete. But most men can tolerate high testosterone levels well. There is a cutoff point, but most men can enjoy and control high levels of the hormone. To help you understand the possible side effects of Testosterone Propionate, we have divided them into different groups and given you all the information you need.
Estrogenic sides:
Testosterone Propionate will mostly have estrogenic effects. The testosterone hormone can turn into estrogen by interacting with the aromatase enzyme. When estrogen levels get too high, it can cause gynecomastia and too much water retention. If you keep too much water in your body, it can cause high blood pressure. Luckily, it's easy to control and avoid the estrogenic side effects of Testosterone Propionate.
Many men are told to use an anti-estrogen when taking testosterone. You have two choices for anti-estrogens: Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) like Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate) and Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs) like Arimidex (Anastrozole) AIs will be most effective because they stop aromatization and lower serum estrogen levels. SERMs don't inhibit or reduce estrogen, they just bind to the estrogen receptor and stop the estrogen hormone from binding.
AIs are very good, but they can also make cholesterol higher. They don't seem too harsh on their own, but when they're combined with a steroid that makes things smell nice like Testosterone Propionate, the problem gets worse. SERMs won't cause negative cholesterol activity. Anti-estrogenic SERMs actually work like estrogen in the liver and will help to keep cholesterol healthy. SERM’s should always be the first choice if they can do the job. But some people may need an AI, and if they do, they will need to work harder to control their cholesterol.
Androgenic sides:
Testosterone Propionate is a powerful androgenic hormone, so it can cause side effects. Testosterone Propionate can cause acne, hair loss faster in people with male pattern baldness, and body hair growth. Testosterone Propionate can cause side effects, but it depends on your genes. Many men won't have a problem at all, but others may need to be careful.
The testosterone hormone can be reduced to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme. This is what makes the skin and scalp androgenic. Some men may find a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor like Finasteride helpful as it will reduce the hormones relative androgenicity. It won't completely stop this activity, but it will make it worse.
Cardiovascular sides:
Testosterone can lower HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) and lower total HDL cholesterol. A therapeutic dose should not cause a strong statistical decrease, but the same dose could cause HDL suppression when combined with an AI. If you use a higher dose than normal, you can reduce the amount of HDL in your blood by up to 20% If it is connected to an AI, it will most likely be frustrated.
If you want to take Testosterone Propionate, a cholesterol-friendly lifestyle will be important. A diet high in omega fatty acids, low in saturated fat and simple sugars, and plenty of cardiovascular activity should be part of your normal routine. If you live a healthy lifestyle that reduces cholesterol, you won't have a problem unless you have underlying health issues.
Testosterone related sides:
Testosterone Propionate will always suppress natural testosterone production, no matter who you are or why. For the low level patient this is not of any concern. A person like this doesn't make enough testosterone. For the performance athlete, this is not a concern as the exogenous testosterone will give your body all it needs.
When you stop using it, your body will start making testosterone on its own. This does not apply to the patient with low testosterone. A low-level patient will most likely always need testosterone therapy.
Even though production will start again on its own, more athletes are encouraged to follow a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plan. This will help you recover faster and make sure you have enough testosterone to function properly while your levels continue to increase naturally. A PCT plan won't get you back to normal on its own, but it will make your recovery more efficient and comfortable. It will also help keep your lean muscle tissue healthy. When you stop doing a cycle and your natural testosterone levels are low, cortisol can take over and make your muscles weaker. A PCT plan will solve this problem.
This assumes that no damage was done to the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular-Axis (HPTA) by improper steroidal supplementation. It also assumes that there was no previous low testosterone condition.
Liver sides:
Testosterone Propionate is not bad for your liver. This anabolic steroid won't stress or damage the liver.
Dose:
Testosterone Propionate doses will usually be 25-50mg per injection and are usually given 2-3 times a week. But keep in mind that it is rarely used today when compounds like Cypionate or Enanthate are available. For athletes who want to do better, they usually take 25-50mg of Testosterone Propionate every other day. This helps them feel stronger and stronger without using other steroids. Doses should be 100mg every other day for a true anabolic benefit. This dose is safe and easy to manage. Most adult men should tolerate it well. Most men can tolerate 150mg every other day well. Some men will be able to take 200mg every other day. But always remember that the higher the dose, the more likely it is to cause side effects. Higher doses will require more care and effort to control side effects, but it is possible to control them.
Testosterone Propionate works well with all types of anabolic steroids. Deca Durabolin (Nandrolone Decanoate), Anadrol (Oxymetholone) or Dianabol (Methandrostenolone) are often used in off-season bulking plans. During the cutting phase, you will find that Test-P stacks well with Anavar (Oxandrolone), Masteron (Drostanolone), Primobolan (Methenolone) The Trenbolone hormone can also help you grow in the off-season.
