Drostanolone Propionate is a type of medicine called anabolic androgenic. It was first sold in 1970 under the name Masteron by a company called Syntex. But Syntex created the compound in 1959 with Oxymetholone (Anadrol), but it wasn't released until well after Anadrol. Syntex would sell the medicine under many different names like Masteril and Metormon, as well as Drolban under a license given by Syntext to Lilly. But Masteron is still the most well-known company.

 Masteron was successful in fighting advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women for two decades. It would also become a popular cutting steroid among bodybuilders. But the original Masteron brand is no longer available. In fact, almost every pharmaceutical brand has been discontinued. The U.S. FDA still approves this compound, but it is not used anymore in breast cancer treatment. The steroid is still very popular in competitive bodybuilding cycles and is often considered a must for contest preparation.

Characteristics:

Drostanolone Propionate is a DHT-derived anabolic steroid. Masteron is the DHT hormone that has been modified by adding a methyl group at the carbon 2 position. This protects the hormone from the 3-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzyme, which is found in the skeletal muscle. It also makes the hormone more powerful and makes it stronger. From here the Propionate ester is attached to control the hormone’s release time. Drostanolone Enanthate can also be found in underground labs, but it is less common than Propionate. Most of the masteron on the market will be Drostanolone Propionat.

Masteron is known for being one of the only steroids that works well against estrogen. This steroid does not have any estrogenic activity, but it can act as an anti-estrogen in the body. This is why it has worked well for treating breast cancer. Masteron and Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate) have been shown to be more effective than chemotherapy in the treatment of inoperable breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This makes it a popular steroid among bodybuilders because it could actually stop the need for an anti-estrogen when used correctly. This can be helpful when cutting because it can make the material harder.

Masteron has low anabolic and orogenic ratings, but these ratings are a bit misleading. Masteron is made up of DHT, which is five times more androgenic than testosterone and has a stronger affinity for the androgen receptor. This again makes you look harder and can also help you lose weight. Most anabolic steroids increase the metabolic rate, but strong androgens tend to increase lipolysis directly.

Effects:

The Masteron will help him lose that last bit of fat that often stays put at the end of a cycle. It will also ensure that his body looks as hard as it can. Of course, the anti-estrogenic effect will make it look even better. Some people may not notice the effects of Masteron that much. If someone has less than 10% body fat, it can make them look thinner and harder. But if they have more than 10% body fat, it might not be as noticeable.

Masteron is a potent androgen that can help athletes who want a boost in strength. This can help athletes who eat less calories to stay in shape for their sport. The individual could easily gain strength and muscle endurance without having to gain weight.

Masteron will be a week-long bulking agent. The hormone might make you gain weight like Primobolan Depot, but it won't be as strong if you use too much of it. But the gain in size will be very small with many anabolic steroids being better suited to this period of steroidal supplementation. Some people might want to include Masteron in a plan to gain weight because it helps reduce fat and prevent estrogen production. This would help them lose less fat during the off-season bulking phase, but it's not enough to use it in this phase. Body fat should be able to be controlled without it. The off-season cycles usually have a lot of aromatase activity because they have a lot of testosterone. With the addition of Nandrolone compounds and possibly Trenbolone, progesterone activity is also high. If you take extra Anadrol or Dianabol, this estrogenic activity can become very strong. Masteron will not be strong enough to fight this level of estrogenic activity.

Side effects:

Masteron is a good anabolic steroid with few side effects. Masteron can cause side effects, but most men will be able to handle it well. This steroid can be strong for females, but we will also find that they can be managed with the right plan. Estrogenic sides:

Masteron does not aromatize or have any progestin nature making estrogenic side effects impossible with this steroid. This means that gynecomastia and water retention won't be a problem. It also means that high blood pressure, which can be caused by excess water retention, won't be a problem. This steroid can have anti-estrogenic effects by itself, so an anti-estrogen is not needed. However, depending on the process used, an anti-estrogen may be needed.
 

Androgenic sides:

The side effects of Masteron can include those that are androgenic. Androgenic side effects can include acne, hair loss, and increased body hair growth. Luckily, this hormone doesn't have too much androgenic power, even though it comes from the powerful androgen DHT. However, individual sensitivity will play a strong role. This steroid is well-known for greatly increasing male pattern baldness in sensitive men.

Drostanolone hormone is not metabolized by the 5-alpha reductase enzyme. This enzyme turns testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. Masteron is already DHT, so there is no reduction. If there's no reduction, there'll be no metabolism and nothing to stop. A 5-alpha reductase inhibitor like Finasteride won't affect the androgenic nature of Masteron.

Masteron can cause virilization in women because it is androgenic. Virilization can cause body hair to grow, vocal chords to deepen, and clitoral swelling. Symptoms of virilization have been noted in breast cancer treatment plans, but this is usually because of the high doses needed to treat it. You can use this drug without feeling sick if you take a small amount. But depending on the person, it might not be the best steroid for female athletes. If it is used and symptoms start to show, stop using it right away and they will go away. If you ignore the symptoms, they may set in and become permanent.

Cardiovascular sides:

Masteron can lower cholesterol. This can lead to an increase in LDL cholesterol and a decrease in HDL cholesterol. The effect on cholesterol won't be as strong as in some oral steroids, especially C17-alpha alkylated steroids. The total effect on cholesterol management will be stronger than that of Nandrolone compounds or testosterone hormones. Masteron may also affect blood pressure, but this will not be a big deal for most people.

Because Drostanolone has a cholesterol-lowering effect, cholesterol management is important with this steroid. Far more important than with simple testosterone cycles or stacks including a basic 19-nor. If you already have high cholesterol, don't use this type of drug. If you are healthy enough to use cholesterol, it is important to keep a cholesterol-friendly lifestyle. A healthy diet should include plenty of omega fatty acids and be low in saturated fat and simple sugars. A lot of cardiovascular activity is also recommended.
 

Testosterone related sides:

Masteron will suppress natural testosterone production, so exogenous testosterone therapy is important when you use this steroid. Most men will develop a low testosterone condition, which comes with many possible symptoms and is also very unhealthy.

Most people who use Masteron in a cutting cycle don’t want to use a lot of testosterone because it has a lot of estrogenic activity. If this is the case, you will find that a low dose of 100-200mg per week of testosterone will be enough to fight suppression and give you the testosterone you need.

Once Masteron is stopped and all exogenous steroidal hormones have cleared your system, natural testosterone production will begin again. Prior levels will not go back to normal overnight, it will take several months. Because of the slow recovery, Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) plans are often recommended. This will speed up your recovery, but it won’t bring your levels back to their peak. This will still take time. A PCT plan will make sure you have enough testosterone for proper body function while your levels continue to naturally rise and cut down on the total recovery time. This natural recovery does not assume no previous low testosterone condition existed. It also assumes that supplementation practices did not damage the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular-Axis (HPTA)

Dose:

The standard dose of Masteron for adult men is 300-400mg per week. This will normally mean an injection of 100mg every other day for a total of 6-8 weeks. This is a common time frame for the Masteron part of a stack. Some people may want to take their medicine every day instead of every day. If a Drostanolone Enanthate version is found, 1-2 injections per week will work, but it's rare.

For female breast cancer treatment, standard dosing is 100mg three times a week for 8-12 weeks. This can cause virilization symptoms that are hard to fix. But no one can say that it's still better than cancer. 50 mg per week should be enough for 4-6 weeks. Some women might be okay with taking 100mg of the hormone every week if they can handle it well. Most women can take this amount, but it depends on their individual reactions. Doses of more than 100mg per week or 4-6 weeks of use will most likely cause virilization symptoms at some level.
