Injection sizes used when injecting steroids
Using performance-enhancing substances is a complex science. They can help produce excellent results quickly, yet they are pretty safe. However, regretfully, most performance-enhancing drugs use is not permitted. It means a lack of medical support to those using these substances.
It is despite the fact that most performance-enhancing drugs are also legally available for medical use. But, for athletes, visiting clinics is not an option. Thus, they are left on their own to decide what syringes to use and learn the proper way of injecting various performance-enhancing substances.
Injecting any drug or medication could be quite daunting in the beginning. Though it is not very complex, things become pretty straightforward with some knowledge and practice.
Nonetheless, users need to understand a few things. Though the term steroids is commonly used to describe all performance-enhancing substances, but they differ significantly. Some are steroids, other peptides, and others are synthetically created chemicals.
Things are further made complicated by the fact that each is taken in different doses and different routes. Though most are used intramuscular, some are taken sub-cutaneous. Some are oil-based, while others are water-soluble.
So what syringes to use when injecting steroids?
Syringes are sold in 1, 3, 5, 10, and 20 ml sizes. However, to keep things simple, it would be best to select one of them, that is, a 5 ml syringe. It would be good to inject most steroids, except those taken subcutaneously like HGH. Sub-cutaneous hormones are injected using a 1 ml syringe.
Let’s just look at some examples. The most commonly used testosterone is testosterone-enanthate. It is an injectable that comes in an oil base. It means that it should never be injected in veins and strictly in the muscles, where it forms the depots and is slowly released from there over the period of several days. It is sold in vials with a dosage of 250 mg/ml. Most would use it 250 mg to 750 mg, depending on the body weight and experience level. Thus, a 5 ml syringe would be a perfect choice. Of course, one may use smaller needles, but they are often too short and delicate for intramuscular injections.
Water-based steroids, unlike oil-based steroids, are taken daily. And in most instances, one would also use 1-3 ml of it; thus, a 5 ml syringe would be absolutely fine.
However, things differ with HGH, which comes in powder for reconstitution. In most cases, one would take it 1 ml subcutaneously daily, though one may opt for 3 ml in some cases. It is good to use either 1 or 3 ml for subcutaneous hormones, as 5 ml is too large for the purpose.
The same is true for HCG as most athletes may use 250 or 500 mcg subcutaneously ( or 5000 to 10000 units). Thus, it is better to opt for 1 ml or 3 ml syringes.
Thus, it would be correct to say that a 5 ml syringe is suitable for all the steroids, as they are injected intramuscularly and seldom more than 5 ml. Whereas other hormones like HGH and HCG are subcutaneous, and thus one may use a 1 ml or 3 ml syringe.
