Characteristics
Tadalafil is a medicine that treats erectile dysfunction. Cialis is a generic version of the drug. The same job it does in the body, but the tablets look different. This is why it costs less.
Tadalafil comes in daily and on-demand forms. You can take 2.5mg or 5mg every day to stay healthy. On-demand comes in a 10mg or 20mg form and the effects last for up to 36 hours after you take it.
How works Tadalafil?
Tadalafil increases blood flow to your penis by relaxing blood vessels. This helps the blood flow to the muscles in the penis, which makes it easier to get up and stay up.
Erections happen when you’re sexually stimulated. The brain sends chemical messages to the blood vessels in the penis that tell them to relax and dilate. This lets blood go into two muscles that can expand, called the corpus cavernosum. When these spaces are filled, you become erect.
With ED, sometimes there is a problem with the body or mind that prevents the floodgates from opening, even if you want them to. Tadalafil belongs to a group called PDE5 inhibitors. PDE5 is a chemical that can make blood vessels smaller and narrow.
Tadalafil stops the PDE5 enzyme from working, and so blood can flow into the penis when you are awake. You need to be awake for ED drugs like Tadalafil to work.
What's the big difference between Tadalafil and Cialis?
The biggest difference between the two is the price. But the company that makes and packages things will also be different. Cialis is called Tadalafil and it's made by the same company. Tadalafil is a medicine called Cialis that is made by many different companies and labs.
When a company creates a new medicine, they can only make it for a certain amount of time. One company could make Cialis as a generic until 2018.
Cialis and Tadalafil also look different, but they have the same active ingredients, doses, side effects, and uses.
Both medicines do the same thing. Tadalafil is cheaper because it's generic. Generic medications almost always have this problem.
How to take Tadalafil?
If you're taking 10mg or 20mg of Tadalafil when you need it:
Take it 30-60 minutes before you want to sex.
With water, swallow your tablet whole.
Don't take it after a big meal because it can make getting to work slower.
Take only one pill at a time.
Ideally, wait 24 hours after you stop feeling the effects of Tadalafil before taking another pill.
Tadalafil can stay active in the body for up to 36 hours, so it may be better. A doctor always wants to prescribe the lowest dose that works because it's usually safer. Most men who choose weekend plans will start with 10mg. If it doesn't work, a doctor might suggest taking 20mg.
Tadalafil is taken daily.
If you’re taking Tadalafil:
Take one tablet every day.
Take your tablet whole with some water.
Don’t take more than one tablet in any one day.
Your doctors might start you on a 2.5mg dose to see how effective it is, and suggest 5mg if your response isn't strong enough.
